THE TBCSA

The Tourism Business Council of SA (TBCSA) was set up in 1996 by the tourism businesses to engage with government in setting up an enabling environment for tourism development

Who do we represent?

  • This organisation is made up of members from the key travel and tourism associations, leading tourism businesses operating in South Africa as well as corporate companies who recognise the importance of tourism to South Africa and the general economy.
  • The official umbrella body for private sector tourism business in South Africa, representing the views of its members in a number of national structures and bodies
  • The organisation that represent South African tourism private sector business on a macro-economic and high-level issues that affect business at both national and international levels

Partnership

With all relevant government department and institutions (directly and indirectly impacting on tourism), NGO’s and international tourism institutions to secure an environment conducive to tourism growth and development

The Tourism Business Council of South Africa is the official umbrella organisation for the  Travel and Tourism private sector in South Africa.  Our mandate is to represent Travel and  Tourism and be a conduit with the public sector.   We seek to lobby and positively influence government policies and decisions in the interest of the Travel and Tourism sector.

OUR KEY MILESTONES INCLUDE:
  • Successful lobbying for the establishment of a dedicated government department for Tourism;
  • The development of the Tourism  BEE Charter in partnership with key stakeholders;
  • Strengthening relations with influential organisations such as the UN World Tourism  Organisation, RETOSA and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

To serve our MEMBERS for the purpose of building the pride, economy and identity of our  (desti)nation, now and in the future.
