Fifa and MATCH have released a list of tour operators that have been authorized to distribute 2010 Soccer World Cup travel packages inclusive of match tickets.
The list includes numerous tour operators that are representative of South Africa’s major source markets as well as other markets that are traditionally big fans of the game. While the list is not extensive at this point, David Will, Chairman of the Fifa Ticketing Sub-Committee and Honorary Fifa Vice-president, noted at a media event before ticket sales were opened that there could be as many as 160 tour operators joining the programme, which has been open for some time.
Participating tour operators are granted an allocation of tickets to offer ticket-inclusive authorized travel packages, he says. “[The tournament] is already well represented in a number of key markets”.
